My Garin Farm Adventure at San Joaquin Iloilo


GarinFarm is a multifaceted 14-hectare inland resort in San Joaquin, Iloilo, Philippines. In the versatile inland resort, you can find superb amenities of individually landscaped glass- walled rooms with a breathtaking view of the ocean or the mountains, a wide swimming pool for adults and children, a 5,000 sq. meter man-made lagoon for boat rides, sporty fishing and kayaking, and horseback riding, among many others.

Last Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, me and my family had an adventure at Garin Farm San Joaquin. Since it’s opening, i already heard a lot of comments and review about this place. So, we really take time to find out how beautiful place is.

The Resort integrates Agriculture, Leisure and Pilgrimage.

Agriculture

GarinFarm San Joaquin

Garin Farm is a one-stop shop for farmers, investors and agricultural enthusiasts. It is the only one of its kind in the country with the most number of agricultural projects. As you enter the resort, you can see a lot of agricultural products, from vegetables, poultry, and piggery. They also produce and sell organic products and delicacies.

Garin Farm has a demo farm where in farmers has the chance to learn new and innovative agricultural techniques. It showcases the zero waste management, backyard farming and other farming technologies.

Leisure

Garin Farm offers several leisure activities. Relish a relaxing time at the hilltop lagoon for fishing, kayaking, boat riding, or horse back riding. You can also go swimming at the pool and stay at their Hilltop rooms.

Fly high in the 300-meter zip line. Experience the serenity of the water and savor the amazing view of the mountain and the sea. The kiddie and adult pools are situated halfway down the hillside, where guests can swim with a breathtaking view of the countryside, the town, and the China Sea horizon. The pools and cave-like cottages were also specifically designed to adapt to the natural flow of the farm’s terrain. Foods and drinks are also available in the pavilion. Just ask for the menu.

Pilgrimage

Garin Farm Pilgrimage takes you to a journey from creation to ascension. Complementing a life of pleasure and a life with nature is a life for the Almighty. Garin Farm offers a balance among these and offers a spiritual hub within the resort to give guests the chance for quiet reflection on the magnificent journey of the Lord and his eternal glory. See the 200 life-size statue of The Creation, The Ten Commandment and The 9 Major Events In The Life Of Jesus. Get a whole new perspective as you climb the 456 steps towards the 101- Ft. Divine Mercy Cross.

Entrance Fee:
P150 per person (*Excluding children below 1 year old. *Senior citizen discount; applicable to cardholders only. *Strictly no outside food and drinks allowed.) Foods and drinks are available in the pavilion.

From the entrance you can walk going up to the pavilion and explore the agricultural products along the way (Just bring with you your umbrella). For those who can’t afford to walk under the heat of the sun, you can take a ride in the Golf Cart (3Pax/ride): Entrance to Pavilion is P60; and Pavilion to Cross: P90.

How to get there?

From Iloilo City:

Take the San Joaquin bound jeepney from Super terminal, Iloilo City.
You can also take buses going to Anini-y or Dao Antique in Molo Terminal.

San Joaquin is the last town in the southern part of Iloilo.
– The 53.5 Km drive along Iloilo- Antique National Road would get you in San Joaquin in about 1 hour.
– There will be signage and billboards directions along the highway going to GarinFarm to guide you.

  3. Nice pictures. Unfortunately, there were no doves when we visited last year. That should have been an amazing shot. Garin farm is amazing :-)

    when we visited it in our field trip, i missed the horseback riding. but i will go again there to try it and other fun stuffs
